There are 22 via ferrata in the Schladming-Dach­stein Region, 20 in the via ferrata eldorado Ramsau am Dach­stein - 4 of which are children's and youth via ferrata. Secured by hooks, ropes, via ferrata set and hel­met, you will ex­perience a new dimen­sion of moun­tain sports.

Berghotel Türlwand in Ramsau am Dachstein

Ramsauer Klettersteig (easy to moderately difficult)

Access:

from the Dachstein Gondola’s base station, walk along the marked path to Edelgrießkar, until you turn right to the Edelgrießhöhe at an elevation of about 2.230 m, reaching the ridge after a further 250 metres. Follow the marked path to the beginning of the steel rope.

The classic among the via ferratas! This impressive iron path begins at the Edelgriesshöhe which extends over to the Gruberscharte.

Westgrat-Klettersteig (easy to moderately difficult)

Difficulty level:

B/C

Access:

From the top station of the glacier lift in an easterly direction over the uppermost Schladminger Glacier briefly downhill to the Hunerscharte (material cable car) and to the well visible belays on the ridge.

Due to the quick accessibility (cable car) this tour is also recommended for not so fit mountaineers.

Randkluft und Schulter (easy to moderately difficult)

A/B bis C

Access:

From the mountain station to the Seethalerhütte. The shoulder climb begins not far from the hut.

The Randkluftsteig in combination with the shoulder ascent on the Hoher Dachstein is probably one of the highest via ferrata.

Gjaidstein (easy to moderately difficult)

A/B

Access:

From the Dachstein Gletscherbahn you descend briefly and walk across the glacier directly towards the Gjaidstein.

Very nice, easy and well secured summit climb to one of the best viewpoints in the area of the Dachstein glacier lift.

Hunerscharte (easy to moderately difficult)

Difficulty level:

A/B

Access:

From the valley station to the Südwandhütte. From the Dachstein-Südwandhütte on marked path in about 2 hours to the entrance. Entry approx. 250 m on the right below the mountain station.

The Hunerscharte is only accessible from the end of June until about the end of September.

Koppenkarstein Westgrad (easy to moderately difficult)

Access:

From the top station of the glacier lift in an easterly direction over the uppermost Schladminger Glacier briefly downhill to the Hunerscharte (material cable car).

Due to the quick accessibility (cable car) this tour is also recommended for not so fit mountaineers.

Irg (very difficult)

Access:

From the top station Hunerkogel east down to the Hunerscharte and across the glacier to the top station of the small drag lift.

Beautiful and airy via ferrata on the southeast fractures of the Großer Koppenkarstein.

Anna (difficult)

Access:

From the bottom station of the Dachstein Gondola on well-marked path in 30 min to the Dachsteinsüdwandhütte (1871 m).

Fascinating, but also demanding via ferrata on the Mitterstein, which should not be underestimated.

Amon (Difficult)

Access:

From the Dachstein mountain station over the Hallstätter Glacier to the Steinerscharte.

The Amon via ferrata built in 2011, represents the connection between the Adamek and Simony huts.

Johann (extremely difficult)

Difficulty level:

C/D bis E

Access:

From the bottom station of the Dachstein Gondola on well-marked path in 30 min to the Dachsteinsüdwandhütte (1871 m). From the hut in the direction of Perner Weg (do not follow the signs in the direction of "Anna"). Short via ferrata (A) necessary for the approach Johann, then walking terrain to the entrance.

One of the most beautiful via ferratas in the Dachstein massif.

Sky Walk (extremely difficult)

Access:

From the top of the Dachstein Gondola, hike down to Hunerscharte. Follow the path until you reach the Sky Walk turn-off.

One of the most difficult via ferratas in the Eastern Alps.

Kala (suitable for children and teens)

Access:

From the parking lot to the "Alte Mühle" left up over a rubble field to the entrance.

A via ferrata specially created for young people, where even adults have to really grip.

Kali (suitable for children and teens)

Difficulty level:

B

Access:

From the parking lot to the "Alte Mühle" left up over a rubble field to the entrance.

Was created especially for children.

Heidi (suitable for children and teens)

Zustieg:

From the old mill first a few meters to the left on the same access path as to the Kala via ferrata.

For adventurous climbers, "Heidi" offers the perfect complement for an eventful family outing in the via ferrata garden.

Kalo (suitable for children and teens)

Zustieg:

Follow the path to Kala. After a couple of minutes, you will reach a marked crossing that will lead you to Heidi's entry point.

A via ferrata specially designed for young people, where even adults have to really pack a lot.
